Family Adventure at Legoland Billund, Denmark

In April, we embarked on a dream trip to Legoland Billund, Denmark—a true paradise for hard core Lego lovers like us! We spent three days in Billund, staying at the brilliantly themed Lego Castle Hotel. Our trip started with a short flight from Dublin to Billund, and we were just minutes away from the fun with Legoland and nearby attractions.

Legoland Park: A World of Fun

We dedicated two full days to exploring the Legoland Billund Park. With over 50 rides and attractions, there’s something for everyone! From thrilling rides like the Polar X-plorer and Flying Eagle to plenty of family-friendly activities, Legoland truly lived up to its reputation. Pro tip: Download the Legoland App to check live wait times and navigate the park easily.

The off-peak season meant shorter lines, and we never waited more than 10 minutes for a ride. If you’re traveling with little ones, don’t forget to grab identity bracelets at the gate and take advantage of stroller rentals if needed.

A Stay Fit for Knights at the Lego Castle Hotel

Staying at the Lego Castle Hotel was an experience in itself. Built in 2019, it still feels brand new, and the Knights Dragon room was perfect for our family of five. Themed decor, bunk beds, and plenty of room for the kids to play made the stay even more magical.

Evenings were filled with Lego-building competitions, and there’s no shortage of play areas, with three playgrounds on-site. If you’re planning to stay, know that there’s a buffet breakfast available, as well as facilities like a fridge and coffee-making equipment to make your stay comfortable.

A Hands-On Experience at Lego House

A short walk from Legoland is the Lego House, an interactive playground for creativity. With 25 million Lego bricks and four color-coded zones, there’s no limit to what you and your kids can build! Whether it’s designing Lego sea creatures or racing cars on test tracks, the Lego House offers endless possibilities. We spent one of our days here and it was absolutely brilliant.

The Tree of Creativity, standing over 15 meters tall, is a must-see. Be sure to explore the History Section in the basement, showcasing iconic Lego sets and the story behind the world-renowned brand. And don’t forget to book a spot at Mini Chef, a robot-run restaurant that makes mealtime a playful adventure!

We left with incredible memories, and as a Lego-loving family, Legoland Billund truly exceeded all expectations! If you’re thinking about a visit, plan for plenty of playtime and magical moments.
